Barbecue Pam's Baked Beans

Servings: 12-14
Preparation Time: approx 2 hrs

Recipe Ingredients

1 lg onion (chopped)
1 lg green pepper (chopped)
4 15oz cans pork-n-beans (fat removed but do
not drain)
1 C ketchup (important)
1 C PANCAKE Syrup
1 tsp of ground cayenne
2 tsp liquid smoke
2 tsp olive oil or wesson oil



Recipe Directions

In iron skillet simmer onion and green pepper in oil til tender. In a dutch oven put remaining ingredients
along with simmered onion/peppers
add seasonings cook on med til simmering (top of stove)
reduce heat to low for about 1 1/2 hrs. Stirring occasionaly don't let
them scorch. Enjoy!

I've tried this with many vaiations...corn syrup ,
brown sugar light and dark. The maple taste subsides
with the liquid smoke and tastes best. Also...depending
on what brand of beans you choose if you need to add a
small amount of water to blend everything go ahead.
